Solo traveler finds a decent stay
Breakfast was good with solid options and fresh fruit salad. The staff at reception were super friendly helping me sort a taxi when I needed it.
It wasn't the cheapest option, but considering the overall experience it was still acceptable.

Easily accessible with excellent free parking, the hotel offered a clean, well-equipped room, complemented by a fantastic bathroom. The friendly staff greatly enhanced the experience, making one feel genuinely welcomed. finding the entrance could be challenging, and while the local dining options were convenient, they might not suit everyone’s taste.

my stay at the red lion was enjoyable overall. the breakfast was really good and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. the hotel has a nice feel and is centrally located, making it easy to explore. it’s ideal for a clubland weekend, and the signature rooms have great touches for relaxation.
the only downside was the noise at night, due to nearby pubs.

It’s all about the culinary adventures, mate! Had a top-notch lasagne at the hotel—pure comfort food! Plus, the staff were bang on, showing a real zest for making guests feel appreciated. Oh, and the location is a proper gem for picking up local eats at nearby joints like Zizzi and Karma Gurkha Kitchen, all just a hop away.
Now, the nitty-gritty—access to the disabled parking was as tight as a drum, and the room felt a bit bare-bones. Oh, and that coffee? Not exactly a cuppa to write home about. We thought about heading out, but opted to chill at the hotel instead.

I had a delightful stay at the Red Lion, perfectly located for exploring the town. The staff, especially Michelle, made me feel incredibly welcome. My only concern was the heat in the room, but it didn’t overshadow the comfortable, charming atmosphere I enjoyed.

missingWrote a review on 19 Aprcozy barconvenient locationdated decor
The location is a key benefit, offering easy access to transport links and nearby shopping options. The cozy bar atmosphere provides a cute spot to relax after a long day, with a decent selection of drinks available.
The decor throughout the hotel feels rather dated, with some rooms exhibiting signs of wear, particularly the furniture and bathroom fixtures showing age and in need of an upgrade. I encountered issues with cleanliness, notably a musty smell in the room, traces of hair left behind in the bathroom, and some rust on the shower head. The noise insulation wasn't great either. Sounds from other guests and creaky floors made for a less than restful night. The kettle lead was so short it barely reached the desk when plugged in, which was a real hassle.

A bit disappointing to find outdated furniture in the room, and the occasional loud environment made relaxation difficult!!! I would also appreciate better maintenance in common areas and more attention to available parking, especially during busy events!!!
